Focaccia Bread

A lovely bread recipe featuring any one of our Bread Dipping Spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups Water, temperature of 95-110 C
  • 5 Tbsp. Dry active yeast
  • 2 1/2 tsp. Sugar, or substitute honey
  • 2 1/2-3 cups Bread flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1/3 cup Olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Any Robert Rothschild Farm Bread Dipping Spices
  • 2 Tbsp. Kosher salt
  • Directions
    1. Mix water, yeast and sugar together and let proof for 10 minutes. Pour 2 cups of flour on a work surface and make well in center. Add salt, oil and Bread Dipping Spices in center well. Add proofed yeast mixture and begin to incorporate flour into mixture beginning at inside edges. Keep incorporating until all flour has been added and ball begins to form. Add remaining flour as required. Work dough with palm of hand until elastic.
    2. Place in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to rise and double in size. Punch dough down and spread out along bottom of well oiled cake pan. Make dimples in dough with fingertips and holes with fork. Allow dough to rise. Brush top with olive oil. Sprinkle with kosher salt.
    3. Bake in 400 degrees F oven for about 30 minutes. Flip out of pan and bake additional 10 minutes, until it sounds hollow when hit with hand.
