Crab Balls

These crab balls consist of crabmeat, shallots, garlic, Monterey Jack cheese, egg and Horseradish Tartar Sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. Crabmeat, picked through to remove shells
  • 1 Tbsp. Shallots, minced
  • 1 tsp. Garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup Robert Rothschild Farm Horseradish Tartar Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp. Parsley, minced
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Saltine crackers, crushed or breadcrumbs
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Directions
    1. Add the crab, shallots, garlic, Horseradish Tartar Sauce, cheese, parsley and egg. Mix together well. Add cracker crumbs slowly until mixture is easy to form into balls and still moist. Season with a little pepper.
    2. Form into small 1 inch diameter balls. Drop crab balls into hot oil in small batches inside a deep fryer and fry until golden brown. Serve with an additional side of Horseradish Tartar Sauce.
