Chicken Fried Steak

Sirloin steak is served with a unique gravy accentuated with our Jalapeno Pepper Dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. Ground top sirloin, or cube steak patties
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flour for dredging
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1 cup Chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 2-3 Tbsp. Robert Rothschild Farm Jalapeno Pepper Dip
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 Tbsp. Oil
  • Directions
    1. Season ground top sirloin with salt and pepper and form into six 1/4 lb. patties or season cube steak patties. Dredge patties in flour and shake off excess. Dip dredged patties in beaten eggs and coat in breadcrumbs. Repeat steps 2-4 to generously coat patties.
    2. In sauté pan, melt butter and whisk in flour to form roux. Whisk chicken stock and heavy cream into roux and simmer to form gravy. Whisk the Jalapeño Pepper Dip into the gravy. Season gravy with salt and pepper.
    3. In a frying pan, add butter and oil. Fry breaded patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
    4. Place in 350 degrees F oven for 10-15 minutes to finish cooking. Place on plate and top with Jalapeño Pepper gravy.
