Braised Brussels Sprouts with Crispy Onions

A wonderful brussels sprouts recipe featuring our Sweet Ham Glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Bacon, chopped, uncooked
  • 2 Tbsp. Oil
  • 1/2 cup Onions, sliced thin
  • 3 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1/4 cup Carrots, diced very small
  • 1 lb. Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 1/4 cup Chicken stock
  • 1 pinch Thyme
  • 1/2 cup Robert Rothschild Farm Sweet Ham Glaze
  • Directions
    1. In a large skillet cook bacon on medium heat until brown and crispy. Remove with slotted spoon and place on paper towel to drain.
    2. Add oil to hot pan and cook onions until brown and crisp. Place on towel with bacon.
    3. Add carrots to pan and cook, tossing for 2 minutes. Add sprouts and toss and continue cooking for 3 minutes until lightly caramelized. Add chicken stock and bring to a boil for 2 minutes.
    4. Reduce heat and simmer until liquid is almond gone. Add Sweet Ham Glaze and reduce until sprouts are glazed.
    5. Place on a serving dish and top with bacon and onions.
